VMWare root user

在 Linux 下要讓新增使用者有 root 的權限再簡單就是將他的 UID (/etc/passwd)改為 0 ,該使用者就可以擁有最高權限,但在 VMware ESXi 下就需要多幾個步驟:

1. Adding users to the ESX serverCreate User:
   
   • Click on the Local Users & Groups button
   • Right Click and Select Add
   • Specify the desired User Information Login Name, UID and User Name. Enter Password, Group membership and Click OK
2. Adding users to the ESX serverCreate a Local Group:(非必要性)
   Click on the Groups button
   Right click and select Add
   Enter the group name you want and enter the User Name you created above in the User Name field and click Add
   Click OK to create the group
3. Adding users to the ESX serverAssign Permissions:
   
   • Click on the Permissions Tab
   • Right Click and Select Add Permission
   • Click on the Add button and select the Group you created above and click on the Add button.
   • Click on the OK button.
   • Make sure the Assigned Role is set to Read-Only and click OK.
